Federico Masini (1988) is a photographer and visual director based in Turin, Italy. His research focuses on the relationship between body, landscape, and imagination, exploring areas where photography shifts from simple observation into a space of presence, trace, and transformation. His practice brings together formal rigor and a mythographic sensibility. The body, in his images, is never only a subject but also a sign, a material presence, and at times an apparition. This tension is central to They Return To Their Earth, his first monograph published by SelfSelf Books in 2024 with a critical text by Marco Albeltaro. In 2022 he received the ImageNation Prize at Liquida Photofestival and held his first solo exhibition at Spazio Musa in Turin. His work was also selected for LensCulture Critics’ Choice and has appeared in Italian and international publications. Alongside his authorial and commercial practice, he works in photography education, lighting, and mentoring. He lives and works in Turin.
